Heavier: Paris's thighs looked fuller and her stomach looked as though it had gained a few pounds as she took pictures on the beach


They say that gaining love means gaining weight and no truer a phrase could be more appropriate for Paris Hilton.

The socialite looked as though she'd put on a few pounds in recent months as she walked the beach in Hawaii in a monokini.

But never usually one to be shy about flaunting her slender frame, Paris, 29, kept herself covered up in a wraparound skirt and big floppy black hat.

It was certainly in contrast to the Paris that strutted her stuff in a pink stripey two-piece In July in St Tropez.

Noticing the cameras, she was happy to show off her very trim and taut stomach as she got ready to dive off a yacht moored off the French Riviera.

But yesterday she came over all shy, especially round her bottom and thighs as she kept them hidden beneath a silver snakeskin print wraparound skirt.

And there were no impromptu poses for the cameras this time either and she hid behind her sister Nicky on the sun beds and clung onto Waits as they walked along the beach.

And as stood in the ocean's surf taking pictures, her slightly protruding stomach was evident.

their holiday didn't start so smoothly after they were evacuated from their plane at Los Angeles airport after a fellow traveller discovered a four-inch serrated knife hidden in a pocket on board.

She tweeted: 'We were about to take off then security made everyone deplane because they found a big knife on board the plane.

'Scary that it got on plane.'
